Mary Michell first performed with ShawChicago Theatre Company in 1999, and fell in love with Shaw’s wit, precision, powerful themes, and unique challenges for actors.
Gary Alexander
Associate Artistic Director
Founding Artistic Director Gary Alexander is an actor, singer, and director based in Chicago. He has received wide critical acclaim for his performances in some of the Chicago area’s top theaters.
Barbara Zahora
Associate Artistic Director
Barbara Zahora first performed at ShawChicago in 2005, playing Leo Bridgenorth in Shaw’s Getting Married. From that time until the company closed in 2018, she performed in over 20 of Shaw’s plays.
Daniel Millhouse
Managing Director
Daniel has been drawn to Shaw because of the wit and humor found within the specific rhythm in how Shaw’s characters react to each other and the world around them.
Adrianne Cury
Outreach Coordinator
Adrianne Cury first fell in love with GB Shaw in college, and her first professional opportunity was Judith in THE DEVIL’S DISCIPLE at The Apple Tree theatre, a role she reprised 18 years later for ShawChicago!
Alison Henderson
Fundraising Coordinator
Alison Henderson is a Rudolf Laban movement specialist and freelance director. In Chicago, Alison has been the artistic director of Reckless Theater and co-artistic director of New World Repertory Theatre.
